In 1892, Don Francisco Fonseca established his very own factory and cigar brand in Havana. The brand was a success, and Francisco began a new innovative practice: wrapping each cigar individually in a fine Japanese tissue paper. This is how they are still packed till today. Even after his death in 1930, production continued under the supervision of his wife. Fonseca cigars are mainly mild and usually are cheaper than other brands.
